John Flores began his career with the San Pasqual Environmental Department as Environmental Coordinator in 2011, he transitioned to Manager of the San Pasqual Domestic Water Department in 2013 and became Director of the Environmental Department in 2015. John previously held a position with the La Jolla Band of Luiseno Indians in 2006 as the Non-Point Source Coordinator. John has worked in Indian Country for over 11 years on Tribal Environmental, Water, and Waste Water Issues ranging from Water Quality to Water Quantity, and Renewable Energy. John holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and U.S. History from the University of California, Berkeley in 2004. He also received his GIS Certification from Mesa Junior College in San Diego in 2009.

Daniel Orozco

Transfer Station Operator, Environmental Department
Daniel Orozco began his career with the San Pasqual Pasqual Band of Mission Indians in the Environmental Department as the Solid Waste Technician in 2003. Daniel is responsible for weekly Elder Pick-ups and supervision of the Transfer Station.

Desiree Morales-Whitman

Desiree Morales-Whitman began her career with the San Pasqual Pasqual Band of Mission Indians as the Environmental Coordinator in 2000, she transitioned to Environmental Manager in 2010. Desiree is the Tribal Liaison for our partnership with Grid Alternatives Solar, SDG&E and Indian Health Services. Desiree is from San Pasqual and is an active Volunteer for the San Pasqual Community Events.

Louie Morales

Water Technician, San Pasqual Water Authority (SPDWA)
Louie Morales began his career with the San Pasqual Water Department in 2012 as a Water Technician. Louie currently holds a Water Certification from the State of California, for Distribution 1, which is a requirement for operation and/or supervision of the operation of a drinking water treatment facility. Louie is continuing to expand his knowledge and professional growth with education in the water industry, he is working on obtaining his Distribution 2 Certification within the coming years. Louie Morales is a San Pasqual Tribal Lineal.

Vanessa Martinez

Vanessa Martinez began her career with the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians as an AmeriCorps mentor from 2012-2016 at the Education Department. After successfully completing 4 years in the program, she was hired on as an Education Program Aide from 2016-2019. In 2019, Vanessa transitioned to the Environmental Department as the Environmental Project Coordinator, where she is currently planning the 2019 EPA Region 9/ Tribal Conference.
